Perfect Sense Pro-Am embarks on its sixth edition in 2018
On June 26, 2017, 80 golfers from around the country teed off at the Perfect Sense Pro-Am at TPC Potomac, kicking off an incredible week of golf in our nation’s capital.
Since 2013, the Perfect Sense Pro-Am has used the game of golf as a catalyst to bring together three groups—individuals with intellectual disabilities, youth golfers, and wounded veterans. This annual weeklong event provides a unique opportunity for these golfers to compete at some of the top courses in our nation’s capital, as well as connect off the course through a variety of different learning experiences.
Competing that afternoon were unique fivesomes comprised of veterans, Special Olympics athletes, youth golfers, and a PGA Tour professional. After 18 holes, the following group emerged at the top of the leaderboard: Dave Romanowsk, a retired Air Force Technical Sergeant awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple heart; Blake Brantley from The First Tee of the Triad; Nikita Patel from The First Tee of Greater Houston; Matthew Gang, a Special Olympics golfer from Northern Virginia; and Wyndham Clark, a PGA TOUR Rookie and 2017 Pac-12 Champion. For Clark, the win on Monday was just the start, as he earned his first career cut in his second professional event.
Following Monday’s tournament, participants got to explore different career opportunities at the Perfect Sense headquarters, tour museums and monuments around D.C., compete in an additional team-golf tournament, attend the first round of The National, and wrap up the week with a celebratory banquet at Topgolf.
