Kyle Stanley returns to TPC Potomac for title defense
July 2, 2017 is a moment that Kyle Stanley will never forget. It was his second career PGA TOUR win. The moment shifted during a one-hole playoff.
Stanley and Charles Howell III finished tied atop the leaderboard at 7-under, two shots ahead of Rickie Fowler and the rest of the field at TPC Potomac in the 2017 National. On the first playoff hole, the 18th, Stanley found the green in two and two-putted, while Howell bogeyed the hole, giving the tournament win to Stanley.
This summer, Stanley will return to TPC Potomac and will attempt to defend his title as he is committed to play in the 2018 National tournament.
“I am very excited to return to The National and defend my title,” Stanley said. “TPC Potomac will always be a special place for me and playing in The National as the defending champion is something I’ve been looking forward to all season.”
