A Family Reunion

Were you there when a military family was reunited at The National in 2017? During The National, moments are made inside and outside the ropes at TPC Potomac for family, friends and the PGA TOUR’s stars. After nearly four years of service overseas, Sergeant First Class Bryane Greene returned to the states with one mission in mind – surprising his family.

Each year at The National, members of the military caddy for a PGA TOUR pro on one hole during the pro-am. Last year at TPC Potomac, military caddies were located on hole 16, and on the tee is where SFC Greene met Rickie Fowler. After serving as Rickie’s caddie on the 16thhole, SFC Greene continued on Rickie’s bag for the final two holes to finish out the pro-am round. Waiting on 18 green were SFC Greene’s children and cousins.

“I had to put it in mission standpoint as far as just staying calm and cool and not letting my emotions get to me,” SFC Greene said of seeing his family while caddying for Fowler on 18 green. “But being a dad, you just can’t help it. All it took was one word, not even a word, just eye contact. That’s all it took for me.”

Reuniting with family after so many years is a moment that will not be forgotten by the Greene family. What moment will you make this summer at TPC Potomac with family and friends? In 2018, making those memories is even easier! Starting this year, youth 15 and younger are free with a ticketed adult and students are eligible to receive discounted tickets.
